We are a trading company active in the trade and distribution of palm oil and part of a larger group. We have customers all over the world, but from our Dutch and Italian offices we focus mainly on the European continent.
With a young team of people (the oldest is 37 years), we have in recent years acquired a leading position in Europe and we continue to grow. In total 11 people work at our European office and it is expected that our team will grow to 15 people in 2017.
Our ambition is high. In Europe, we are among the biggest traders in terms of tonnage shipped in palm oil. We continue to grow because we see opportunities and seize them (which is the quality of our team). All of our palm oil has sustainability certificates and we are committed to even further “sustain” our palm oil from seed to final product on delivery. This is not always an easy task given the major interests at stake, but we believe that there is no way back.
Vacancy Financial Administrator
As Financial Administrator you cooperate closely with our Manager Finance and it is your main responsibility to run and maintain our administration up to date. This means you will manage the flow of (financial) documents to ensure timely processing of all AP, AR and General Ledger related transactions.
Some of your duties are managing all payments and customer invoicing as per the deadlines and reconcile, analyze and process all invoices from customs and transporters and match against accruals.
Based on your accurate bookkeeping, you will assist in the various financial and management accounting reporting and be one of the key people to contact for all matters related to the financial administration. Also the monthly group consolidation of four foreign subsidiaries under IFRS is part of your job.
Next to these main duties and responsibilities you will also take part in special projects, either locally or with your Italian, Spanish or other international colleagues.
Profile Financial Administrator
You have a bachelor’s degree (or comparable) in Accounting, Finance or Business, know your way around SAP and have relevant work experience. It will be a plus if your experience is based on working in the commodity / trading industry, but it is not a necessity.
At our offices in The Netherlands and abroad we converse in English, so a good understanding of this language is needed. It will be a big plus if you also master the Spanish or Italian language.
As our European company is growing in business / trade and employees, you feel comfortable in working in a small structure, start-up type of company where tasks and responsibilities are in constant move. Also, sometimes you must be able to work under high pressure when big deals pass our desks, the ports and customs in Europe. At other times, you are able to work in a more relaxed manner, but with always in the back of your mind that things may change when ships suddenly enter ports earlier or with delay or deals fall through.
Working in a relatively unstructured, ambiguous and multi-cultural environment. A position where you are allowed to be yourself, work independent but be part of a team on who you are able to count on and a team who counts on you. And, we offer never a dull moment!
